HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-ac0XX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Unable to display video on my HDMI TV.  Product number is Y4P52AV.  I have tried several HDMI cables, and several USB-C-to-HDMI adapters.  TV indicates there's "no signal".  HP Spectre sees most of the adapters, but only the USB ports; ie, the adapters function as USB hubs, only.  I've been fighting this same issue for at least 6 months, and I've tried at least 5 different adapters!

Is there a specific USB-C-to-HDMI adapter that's known to work?

Hi JBKerner,

I want to know if the TV's HDMI port is actually fine and has been tested through other means.

If you would like the official HP USB-C to HDMI, you can get it here.

For now, I would like to recommend some chipset/graphics drivers to confirm if it is a hardware issue.

Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver

Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver

HP Notebook System BIOS Update (Intel Processors)

I have a USB C hub with HDMI, USB, Ethernet, etc., as well PD. The HDMI port will only work if power is applied to the hub before I connect it to the computer, and sometimes not then. It is finicky, but once it works, it works.

FYI, that link you provided for the "official" HP connector clearly does NOT state, under "specs" tab, that it works for the x360 Spectre.

Obviously, I have the same issue.
