My screen has had this issue for a while now, I've had the laptop a bit over a year, and I have a 3 year accidental warranty on it so I presume it can be replaced if I cannot remove this residue somehow myself, I'm just trying to find out if this is abnormal or if this has happened to any other owners?
Basically there are these silver "scratches" in my OLED screen that correspond to the top edge (a line in the top 1/3 of the screen about 3 inches long) of the track pad and the two lower corners (two small dots about the size of a pencil eraser). It is physically on the screen, and cleaning the screen has done nothing to remove this (I cleaned it with just isopropyl before taking pictures). If I scratch my fingernail against it, it has an audible sound.
They are only somewhat visible while using the screen and not very noticeable on dark backgrounds, however as I intended to use this for drawing it is actually very distracting with white backgrounds as it has a rainbow effect (cannot capture well in an image).
Side note, I also have an entire corner of the screen that does not display black properly (looks green, I tested with a black square in a paint program maximized and dragging it around the screen, that corner in particular is green instead of black, the rest is nice and black).
Here are a couple of images of the silver (I think scratches) on the screen:

Diannetea,
I am the owner of a 15" OLED Spectre, and I also have the exact same problem. In fact, countless others have reported this issue with Spectre here on the HP forums and on other forums as well. This is a flaw of the laptop's design scratching the display when closed. Several people have successfully gotten their screen replaced under warranty, but I personally am stuck dealing with HP support right now as they are wanting to make me pay over $500 to replace the screen. Since your device is still under warranty, I would highly recommend getting the screen replaced. If support tries to give you nonsense, do not be afraid to fight hard until they agree to replace it free of charge. This is a known problem among the Spectre community; thus HP must acknowledge that.
