As the title says, my stylus now only works after pressing a button, and even then it only works intermittently. This has been an issue for a while, but it's just gotten a lot worse now. Whenever I lift the stylus off the laptop, it just seems to power off or something. This isn't just limited to the HP stylus either. I bought a Surface Pen just to see if that might work better, but it has the exact same issue. The only difference with the Surface Pen is that its eraser end always seems to work. However, for both styluses, they are basically unusable for writing anything. 

 

I've reinstalled drivers for the touch screen, pen, keyboard (as per posts here with similar issues), and calibrated the pen input. Nothing has seemed to work for either one of the styluses.
