Subject: Re: HP USB-C G5 Essential Dock not working no HDMI or Display Ports work along with not charging Lap

Try a BIOS update on your system (we are on the basis that you have a newer HP laptop). The BIOS update I perform at the office include a USC-B firmware update. I've had a lot of success correcting the Display Port/HDMI anomaly via BIOS updates.

No need to respond with your crap, this unit is incompatible with my laptop. No amount of your research can you fix it. No one mentioned it when I purchased both together. My mistake, I let it sit in my closet till Christmas and the 30-day warranty went by. So now I own a USB Hub really a boat anchor for $140.00. That was the last thing I purchased from HP. I now have 2 Epson ECO Print printers, they work.

The specs of your machine is

It has  one hopeless USB 3.2 Gen 1.0 Type-C port, 5 Gbps signaling rate (data transfer only; charging or external monitors not supported) port which is NOT compatible with HP USB-C G5 Essential Dock. Please do NOT play around with your computer now, this may make those things worsen.

Regards.
