HP ZBook Studio G5 Mobile Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I tried updating both with HP Support Assistant and by manually downloading the installer sp135736. The current version is 5.5.27.1099 and the new driver is 5.5.28.1099. The dialog box opens, it asks for license agreement, it asks for the file save location, then it opens a window which says file extraction which quickly closes and a command window pops up and closes fast. After that no activity. Windows 10 is up to date as are all other HP drivers.

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if this works...

If you did not delete the driver folder that was created when you ran sp135736, go to the device manager.

Click on the Synaptics VFS7552 Touch Fingerprint sensor.

Click on the driver tab.

Click on Update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp135736.

Make sure that the Include subfolders box is checked and see if the driver updates that way.

Thank you Paul, this did the trick, device manager now says it is 5.5.28.1099. I checked for updates in HP support assistant and it recognized that the update was done, as the update disappeared from the list.
