Hello
I have difficulties utilizing the fingerprint sensor on my device. In device manager it says 'Device not started'. I tried enabling 'Fingerprint Reset on Reboot' checkbox from the bios as advised from this thread: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/This-device-cannot-start-Code-10-Syna...
Then I tried searching for a driver manually from hp support website and found sp93074 which is the same version(5.5.11.1099) that windows is installing on the system. Then I decided to download the driver anyways, unzipped it and found that in the SynapticsFingerprintManager.exe.config file it says <supportedRuntime version="v2.0.50727"/>, which should point to the .net runtime version the driver is compatible with. I tend not to install the older versions(incl. 3.5) if it's not something of a great importance to me.
So the question is, is the lack of the older .net runtime preventing me from using the fp- sensor and when should I expect it to be patched to work with the up-to-date .net that comes with windows 10?
Shall I report that somewhere else?!
Here are some screenshots:
Edit: I've just updated to the latest bios: BIOS Version/Date HP R80 Ver. 01.02.00, 3/10/2019, but the issue remains.
Kind regards,
Kostadin
