I just bought this laptop. I've had it for just a couple of weeks. Today I tried to use it in tablet mode but it doesn't work.  I haven't upgraded to a new OS or anything of that nature.  This is very frustrating. I read the other forumns on this topic and the "help" was completely unhelpful.

You’ve done some smart and awesome diagnosis also. Kudos to you for that. 🙂

For better clarity, I would require more information regarding this.

Please let me know the model# of the unit.

Please try these steps:

1. Go to control panel

2. Go to Display

3.Go to Adjust Resolution

4. Be sure "Allow the screen to auto-rotate" is CHECKED.

Here's what worked for me...

Go to Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Tablet PC Settings, Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input.  I choose touch input, calibrated by touching the middle of several cross hairs in the four corners, saved, then it worked again.

Before this it worked perfectly then stopped working after a couple of weeks of ownership.  Even though I bought the 3 year plan at Best Buy at purchase, Geek Squad wanted $100 one time or $200 for the year to diagnose.  And/or they would send off for a few weeks for repair.  I decided to take it home and fiddle.
