HP EliteBook 830 G6 Notebook PC

Hello, recently the inbuilt HD and IR cameras have stopped working on my Elitebook 830 G6 running Windows 11 Pro Build 26100.3624 (24H2).

If I go to device manager and select show hidden devices the two cameras are present. Under USB controllers an Unknown USB device is listed. If I delete this device, run the HP camera drivers executable and reboot, the two cameras re-appear.

However every single time, the laptop comes out of sleep or hibernate the cameras  have disappeared again from device manager.

This is very annoying as it prevents me using Facial Recognition in Windows Hello and the fingerprint reader is not as reliable.

I even deleted the cameras from the show hidden devices view but they did not reappear or get detected after multiple reboots. They also disappeared from the bios settings.  After that I did a full windows reset  and the cameras were still missing from the bios and Device manager.

Sometime later the camera miraculously reappeared. HP Support Assistant detected them and dowloaded  and installed the HP camera drivers. The cameras then worked until the next wake from sleep at which time they disappeared.

I'm now at the stage where the cameras can be found under show hidden devices in the device manger and in the bios but they just don't work.

As explained above they do come back after deleting the Unknown USB device from device manager, running the HP camera drivers executable and rebooting only to disappear again after the laptop comes out of sleep or hibernation. It's infuriating.

Has anyone got any other ideas how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance.
