HP Laptop 15-da0xxx

Goodmorning,

Two days ago the multifinger function of the touchpad stopped to work.
I did everything that the HP page suggests: I tried to upgrade and reinstall the driver, I did a virus scanner, I tried to find errors with DOS scan. Nothing.
I also did the system recovery. but the problem is still there.

How can I do?

Thanks in advance,

Eva

I suggest either connecting a wired mouse or wireless mouse temporarily.

Once that is done  you can uninstall the Synaptics device from the Device Manager.

Hold down the Windows key and tap the X key once to invoke a menu in which to select Device Manager.

Then you can right click any device in the device manager and select scan for hardware changes.

The Windows operating system should then install the device and required driver.

I forgot to say that when I try to open the Synaptics touchpad app, I receive this error message:

"Unable to connect to the Synaptics pointing device driver.
If you have installed the driver of another PS / 2 pointing device, uninstall the Synaptics driver by clicking the Yes button.
Afterwards, you will need to install the pointing device driver for the external device again.

Would you like to uninstall the driver now?"
