Product: HP 2010i 20-inch Diagonal LCD Monitor

HP 2010i 20" HD ready LCD monitor. I turned the computer and screen off, and a few days later, turning it back, the monitor turns on fot two seconds, then goes nearly black. I can see a very faint shadow on the screen, so it's not dead, just un-usably dark. I tried the ctrl + up artow to brighten the image, and unplugging it, but neither did anything.
