The laptop stopped seeing the webcam. In the device manager, it was displayed only in hidden devices as unconnected. I deleted it, hoping that when rebooting it would identify the device and get the drivers, but it did not appear in the manager.
I reinstalled the drivers, reinstalled the operating system, returning the laptop to factory settings, but the problem was not solved.
P.S. Also have a problem with a bluetooth. The system assures me that the bluetooth on the laptop is turned off. This problem, as well as the problem with the webcam, appeared after an attempt to update outdated drivers to new ones.

Hi @Divinante,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your laptop's internal webcam and Bluetooth issues might be related to driver or hardware issues. Since the problems started after updating drivers, let's try some steps to resolve this.
1. Verify Physical Connections
- Webcam: Ensure the webcam is physically connected. If it's an internal webcam, this usually isn't a problem, but it's worth checking if your laptop has been dropped or jostled recently.
2. BIOS/UEFI Settings
- Check BIOS/UEFI: Ensure that the webcam and Bluetooth are enabled in the BIOS/UEFI settings. Restart your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI (usually by pressing a key like F2, F10, DEL, or ESC during startup). Look for settings related to integrated peripherals and ensure the webcam and Bluetooth are enabled.
3. Update BIOS/UEFI
- BIOS Update: Check for a BIOS update from your laptop manufacturer's website. Sometimes, BIOS updates can resolve hardware detection issues.
4. Device Manager and Hidden Devices
- Show Hidden Devices: Open Device Manager, click on "View" at the top, and select "Show hidden devices". This might reveal if the devices are still present but not functioning correctly.
- Scan for Hardware Changes: In Device Manager, right-click on your computer name at the top of the list and select "Scan for hardware changes".
5. Driver Rollback and Reinstallation
- Rollback Drivers: If the issues started after a driver update, try rolling back the drivers. Go to Device Manager, find the problematic device (if visible), right-click, and select "Properties". Under the "Driver" tab, click "Roll Back Driver".
- Install Drivers from HP: Download and install the latest drivers for your webcam and Bluetooth from the HP website. Avoid using generic drivers if possible.
6. Check Services
- Bluetooth Support Service: Ensure the Bluetooth Support Service is running. Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter. Find "Bluetooth Support Service", right-click, and select "Start" or "Restart".
- Windows Camera Frame Server: Similarly, check for the "Windows Camera Frame Server" service and ensure it's running.
7. Windows Troubleshooters
- Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter: Open Settings -> Update & Security -> Troubleshoot -> Additional troubleshooters -> Hardware and Devices. Run this troubleshooter to see if it can detect and fix the problem.
8. Check Windows Updates
- Windows Update: Make sure your system is fully updated. Sometimes, Windows updates include necessary drivers. Go to Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows Update -> Check for updates.
9. System File Check
- SFC and DISM: Run the System File Checker and DISM tools to repair any corrupted system files.
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
- Run sfc /scannow and wait for it to complete.
- Run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and wait for it to complete.
10. External USB Devices
- USB Webcam: As a temporary measure, you could use an external USB webcam to ensure you have a functioning camera.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
