Hi,
There is a black thick horizontal line of almost 5 mm on my laptop screen, it just suddenly appeared when I turned on my laptop. I do not know how it came and what is the reason behind it. Please let me know how this can be fixed and how it appeared.

Hey there! @VAISHILPI,
Does the issue persist on the BIOS page?
Were there any physical damages to the laptop or screen?
Have you tried checking with an external monitor does the issue persist?
Please share the product number of the PC to assist you better.
If the issue does not persist on the BIOS page try updating the chipset, graphics driver and BIOS on the PC to the latest version.
You can update the drivers on the PC using the HP support assistant.

Also, Try restoring the BIOS to default and check if it helps.
1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

If the issue persists on the BIOS page. It is a hardware issue with the PC.
