I just got a Thunderbolt G4 dock, after being advised by the **bleep** it is compatible with my laptop,but I realised it is not consistently displaying on my LG 4k monitor, ( works only sometimes, other times doesn't)
Prior to this, I had been using an Amazon basic dock which consistently worked until it broke, hence the reason I got the HP Thunderbolt G4 dock.
I have tried with another dell laptop, and it works seamlessly with it, so it makes me believe it is a laptop issue, but I'm not sure how to fix it.
Thanks for your help

Its specs
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05826774
It has 2 Thunderbolt™ 3 (Data Transfer up to 40 Gb/s, Power Delivery, DP1.2, HP Sleep and Charge) ports which should be compatible with the HP Thunderbolt G4 dock.
I know HP Spectre machines are on the top of commercial HP notebooks I can't understand why HP does not have a dock which works for HP Specter machines. Have you tried G2 docks ?
Regards.

@Banhien, Thanks for your reply.
No, I haven't tried the G2 docks,
Like I said, it works sometimes, (as I'm typing now it is working again), but then when I disconnect, it might not connect again for a long time, and there doesn't seem to be any pattern/ trick to try, Its almost like it only works when it wants to.
it's really frustrating.
I was hoping there could be a software update or download that I need to try to fix this.
