This laptop when bought it had touch screen, now it refuses to work. I have checked The Device Manager for the HDI-compliant touch screen, it works, it does not have any errors. When I try the test to touch the crosses it doesn't recognize the touch. I have run the HP PC Hardware Diagnostic and everything is fine, no errors.
I tried to enter the UEFI test but when i select my language the screen freezes and nothing happens.

@IJustNeedHelpcx, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing issues with the touchscreen on your HP ENVY x360 - 15-w110la, even though it previously worked and shows no errors in Device Manager. Let's walk through a few steps to help resolve this.
Confirm Touchscreen is Enabled
Even if the driver appears fine:
- Press Windows + X → Select Device Manager
- Expand Human Interface Devices
- Right-click HID-compliant touch screen → Ensure it says "Disable device" (which means it's currently enabled). If it says "Enable device", click it.
Check Tablet Mode Settings
Sometimes Windows disables touch input when not in tablet mode:
- Go to Settings > System > Tablet
- Ensure Tablet mode is turned On or set to "When I use this device as a tablet"
Reinstall HID Touch Driver
- In Device Manager, right-click HID-compliant touch screen → Select Uninstall device
- Restart your PC. Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.
4. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (Offline UEFI)
You mentioned the screen freezes after selecting the language. This could indicate a firmware or input issue. Try this:
- Shut down the laptop completely.
- Press Esc repeatedly right after powering on → Then press F2 for System Diagnostics
- If the touchscreen freezes again, try connecting a USB keyboard/mouse to navigate.
If you can access the UEFI diagnostics:
- Choose Component Tests > Touch Screen > Touch Pointer Test
BIOS Update
An outdated BIOS can cause hardware issues:
- Visit the Official HP® Support
- Enter your product: HP ENVY x360 - 15-w110la
- Download and install the latest BIOS and firmware updates
Windows Updates
Ensure your system is fully updated:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update
Click Check for updates
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
