I have no idea what to do at this point. my touchscreen on my laptop worked fine, up until the cloudstrike update happened is when it massively impacted my laptop. I had to reset my PC 3 times for it to get it to OK working conditions. I've looked in every forum, to it to 2 repair shops, checked device manager, updated BIOS, Updated and uninstalled Updates from Windows, downloaded all sorts of touchscreen drivers off of Microsoft's catalog. I've done just about all I can to get the touch screen to work and nothing. I want my touchscreen back I just don't know what else to do. is there any tips I'm missing?

@anmera, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding touchscreen issue on your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
You’ve already gone above and beyond with troubleshooting, so let’s take a fresh approach and see if we can get your touchscreen back up and running.
Here are a few things we can try:
Check HID Touchscreen in Device Manager
- Open Device Manager (Press Win + X and select Device Manager).
- Look under Human Interface Devices (HID) for HID-compliant touchscreen.
- If you see it:
- Right-click and select Enable (if it's disabled).
- If it's already enabled, try Uninstall Device, then restart your laptop. Windows should reinstall it automatically.
- If it’s missing, let me know, and we’ll dig deeper.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics for Touchscreen
- Turn off your laptop.
- Press Power + F2 repeatedly to enter HP Diagnostics.
- Select Component Tests > Touchscreen Test and follow the steps.
- Does it recognize any touch input?
Check Windows Tablet Mode Settings
- Go to Settings > System > Display > Tablet mode and make sure it’s set to Use the device as a tablet when needed.
- Sometimes, Windows mistakenly disables touch functionality in desktop mode.
Roll Back or Reinstall Touchscreen Drivers
- If you recently updated Windows, try rolling back the touchscreen driver:
- In Device Manager, right-click HID-compliant touchscreen > Properties > Driver tab > Roll Back Driver (if available).
- If rolling back isn’t an option, uninstall the driver and restart the laptop.
Check HP Support Assistant for Updates
- Open HP Support Assistant (or download it from HP’s website).
- Check for any pending firmware or driver updates related to input devices.
BIOS Settings & Reset
- Restart your laptop and press F10 to enter the BIOS.
- Look for Advanced > Built-in Device Options and make sure Touchscreen is enabled.
- If nothing helps, consider resetting BIOS to default settings.
Since you’ve already tried a full reset, if none of these steps work, we might need to check if the update affected your hardware at a deeper level. Let me know what happens after these steps, and we’ll figure out the next move together.
Looking forward to your update! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
