The touch screen has started to stop working (last couple of days). There has been no system updates or programs installed. If I go into device manager and do a 'Scan for hardware changes' the screen will work again for a couple of minutes and then stop again. I have tried to uninstall the driver and reboot so it re-installs. Still has the issue. I have pressed F2 and gone into the settings and tested the touch screen, both test... all the boxes and dragging. They would fine, over and over.
The screen does work on boot up and login, just a couple of minutes and it stops again. Any help on pointing me in the right direction. Again, nothing has updated, installed or changed... the laptop is left on all night as always and just stopped working that morning. Thanks.

@Dean_Bath Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that the touch screen is stopped working.
As you have stated that you have already performed the F2 test for the touch screen, Please check if the touch works fine with safe mode.
Also, reinstall the display drivers, install the latest updates for the display adapters and BIOS,
If the issue persists, you could reinstall the windows using the recovery partition or the recovery media to fix the issue.
let me know how that pans out,
And the answer to the above question will help me, help you!
Keep me posted, and if any of the above questionnaires helped resolve the issue,

Good luck.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I have tested in safe mode and it still does the same.
I have reinstalled the display drivers, checked for updates (none) and also reinstalled the HP touch drivers.
I have now just done a system recovery (keeping personal files), the system has wipe my apps etc and reinstalled windows 10. The issue is still their, I also tested in safe mode again once reinstalled.
The screen will continue to work if you keep touching it, once stopped touching it about 2 mins and it will then not work. You have to rescan for hardware changes. You can also press the power button, place the laptop into sleep, press the button again to wake and the screen will work.. for a couple of mins as above then stop.
I have not installed any apps/programs in months, but not sure if windows has installed any updates that might cause this.

@HARYANTO Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that the touch screen is not working properly.
Just to clarify, did you check if the issue persists in BIOS? if not I recommend checking if the Touch is working on BIOS screen (Accessed by tapping on F10 while restarting the computer) or if you have issues with the keyboard or unable to reach the BIOS:
I recommend running a hardware test on the touchscreen to be sure since it isn't working in the BIOS, please use the below steps to perform the test:
Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
On the main menu, click Component Tests.
The Component Tests menu displays.
Touch Screen Test - Quick interactive test to determine if the touch screen is functioning correctly. (This test is currently not available in the Windows version of the hardware diagnostics.)
To run the test, click Touch Screen, and then click Run once.
If the test fails, please capture the 24 character failure ID and revert with the details.
If it works on bios and the above tests pass, try checking if it works in safe mode.
Also, reinstall the display drivers, install the latest updates for the display adapters and BIOS,
if the issue persists, you could reinstall the windows using the recovery partition or the recovery media to fix the issue.
let me know how that pans out,

Thank you for the update.
In that case, please take the backup of your personal data. Then format the hard drive and install the operating system and check.
You can also refer to the HP cloud recovery.
Have a nice day!!
