Got this laptop for my daughter around a year and a half ago. Unfortunately the screen flickering, jumping around and closing tabs to the point my daughter can't use her laptop. She is getting ready(or trying to with a malfunctioning laptop) for her upcoming exams.

I've seen a similar post and went through all the trouble shooting, nothing changed. In that post it was said  that the problem is most likely a hardware issue. Is there anything i can do? I can't afford to pay for a new laptop or to replace the screen.

Many thanks for any advice .

Sorry, but there are no options available to fix this that are not very expensive.  This is a video hardware issue and involves eithe the screen or the video chip, or both -- both of which cost a LOT to replace.

You can try connecting an external monitor to see if that is usable -- and while that will cost something -- it will be a LOT less than the repair costs.

Thanks for your reply. Surely if it's a hardware issue HP needs to do something about it. I didn't pay hundreds of pounds to only able to use the laptop for a year and a half. I've seen other posts with the same issue so I am not the only one experiencing this.
