I have a HP Envy X360 Laptop. I'm using it normally and the touchpad and keyboard randomly stop working. I have made alot of search and I can't fix it. I have updated everything already. I have make your the drivers at up to date. I have enable and unable and nothing. The only way I can use the computer is because it was a touchscreen. I also talk with hp customer service and gave them the controlled of the computer. They updated, deleted, and make sure it was up to date to the same problem keeps showing up. I desperately need a solution. I don't know what to do anymore. I went to the store were I got the computer and they gave me a new computer of the same product but the same continues to happen. I have try all the tips of using the windows log, with the FN, or F1- F9. Please help me fix this problem. I need the computer to work 100%. Hi @Francis71,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP Envy X360 laptop. Since you've already tried several troubleshooting steps and even received a replacement laptop with the same problem, it's clear that this issue requires a more in-depth solution.
Here are some additional steps you can try to resolve the problem.
- BIOS Update: Ensure that your laptop's BIOS is up to date. Visit HP's official website, enter your laptop model, and check if there's a BIOS update available.
- Power Settings: Adjust your power settings to make sure that the USB ports, where the keyboard and touchpad are connected, are not being turned off to save power. Go to "Power Options" in the Control Panel and customize the power plan settings.
- Device Manager: Open the Device Manager and uninstall the drivers for the touchpad and keyboard. Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the drivers. To access the Device Manager, press Win + X and select "Device Manager."
- System File Checker (SFC): Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the System File Checker to scan and repair corrupted system files. Type sfc /scannow and press Enter. Allow the process to complete and then restart your computer.
- Check for Malware: Run a full system scan using your antivirus software to ensure that your system is not infected with malware.
- Windows Update: Check for any pending Windows updates and install them. Sometimes, a system update may address hardware compatibility issues.
- HP Support Assistant: Use the HP Support Assistant application to check for and install the latest drivers and updates for your laptop.
- Reinstall Windows: If all else fails, consider reinstalling Windows on your laptop. This should be done as a last resort, and you should back up your important data before proceeding.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
