TouchSmart 14-b109wm Sleekbook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hi

The latest Windows 10 update broke my touch screen.  I had already installed the Windows 10 Annivesary Update.  Following the HP instructions to fix the touch screen not working issue did not work.  If I roll back the Windows update, things work again.  The touch screen driver does not appear to have been directly updated, as I cannot rollback the driver (date is in 2006 and the rollback option in device manager indicates that there is no rollback driver available.) Any idea if a new driver is available or if there is another solution so that I don't have to rollback a cumulative Windows update?

Thanks

Jim

Hi @BoomGator,

Just to be sure, I followed the steps again except for the wipe your machine and reinstall Windows 8 (the original OS) step.  Unfortunately, the windows 10 recovery check point that worked rolled off my computer, so, now I am stuck with a touchscreen that no longer works.  Any suggestions, aside from reinstalling windows 8 then 8.1 then 10?

Thanks

Hi BoomGator,

Thank you for your reply!

I would only reinstall Windows 10 if you have recovery media available. If you go back to Windows 8/8.1 The Windows 10 free upgrade is no longer available from what I have read, and you will be using Windows 8/8.1 if you did that.

I would recommend to consider to contact HP phone support as they have the ability to remote in for a closer look. (After you fill out the information, you will be given a phone number.) If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. Country-language selector.

If you are able to reach some resolution, please click on Accept Solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.

Hope this helps! 🙂
