HP ENVY x360 13.3 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 13-bf0000 (552D5AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

A particular region on my touchcsreen doesnt respond properly to the stylus pen; rather it just makes scribbles in the spaces near it. I regularly clean my screen, so this isn't caused by ditry screen problem.

I have tried the "calibrate the screen for pen or touch input" function, but my laptop runs Windows 11, so it doesn't have this function available.

I have also tried to configure the stylus using the "Tablet PC Setting" but once I tap my screen with my stylus, it doesn't let me apply whatever changes it has made.

I also updated the HID, but this hasn't made any changes.

About the ghost touch issue, my laptop occasionally becomes unresponsive, and the screen behaves as though someone is touching it.

I have tried to speak to the HP customer service twice already, but we always have some kind of communication issues. I will try again during the weekdays.

Hi @melonxxx,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Touchscreen issues, such as ghost touches or inaccurate stylus input, can be caused by several factors. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot your touchscreen and stylus issues on an HP device running Windows 11:

Check for System Updates:

  • Ensure your Windows 11 operating system is up to date. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for updates.

Update Touchscreen and Stylus Drivers:

  • Visit HP Software & Driver Downloads to update your device drivers.

  • Identify your product, select your operating system (Windows 11), and download the latest touch screen and stylus drivers.

Reinstall the Touchscreen Driver:

  • Open Device Manager (search “Device Manager” in the taskbar search box).

  • Expand the "Human Interface Devices" section.

  • Right-click the HID-compliant touch screen and select “Uninstall device.”

  • Restart your computer. Windows will automatically reinstall the driver.

Touchscreen Calibration:

  • While the Calibration Tool isn’t available on Windows 11, you can try modifying display settings to calibrate the touchscreen indirectly.

  • Adjust the screen resolution (Settings > Display > Scale & Layout) to the recommended setting to ensure it matches the physical display for better input recognition.

Disable Tablet Mode (if applicable):

  • Go to Settings > System > Tablet > Change additional tablet settings.
  • Ensure that the “Tablet mode” is turned off.

Stylus Configuration:

  • Access Pen settings by going to Settings > Devices > Pen & Windows Ink.

  • Ensure the settings here (like hand preference and pen shortcuts) match your requirements.

Test in Safe Mode:

  • Boot into Safe Mode to see if the problem is software-related.

  • If the issue resolves in Safe Mode, a third-party application might be causing the problem.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
