Hi @Vally99

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand how concerning this must be, especially when both the touchpad and touchscreen have stopped working. I'll certainly help you troubleshoot the issue. To begin, could you please let me know if this started after a Windows update, driver update, or any recent changes to the laptop? Also, please confirm whether you're able to use an external USB mouse or keyboard.

Meanwhile I would request you to please follow the below steps.

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Disconnect the AC adapter and any external devices.
  • Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect the AC adapter and turn on the laptop.

Reinstall Touchpad Driver:

  • Go to the Device Manager by right-clicking the Start button and selecting it from the list.
  • Expand the "Mice and other pointing devices" option, and look for your Synaptics touchpad.
  • Right-click on it and select "Update driver." Then, choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."
  • If no updates are found or the issue persists, right-click on the driver again and select "Uninstall device." Once uninstalled, go to the HP support website to download and reinstall the appropriate driver for your device model.

Check Windows Touchpad Settings:

  • Open Settings by clicking the Start button and then clicking on the gear icon.
  • Navigate to Devices > Touchpad.
  • Ensure that the touchpad is enabled. Check the sensitivity and gesture settings to make sure they're set according to your preferences.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Press the Power button and immediately tap F2 repeatedly.
  • Select Component Tests and run the Touchscreen and Touchpad tests (if available).
  • Note any failure ID displayed.

I Hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
