I've tried everything that chatGPt asked me to do:
Updated BIOS, install amd chipset and even some elan touchpad driver from hp drivers page.
But the yellow triangle on I2C HID Device under Human Interface Devices under Device manager is NOT going.

Please help me restart my touchpad.

Hi @Shraddha2893,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I Understand your concern about the touchpad not responding, don’t worry let me help you with this.

Thank you for sharing the steps you’ve already taken that helps narrow things down.

Could you please confirm the  exact HP laptop model also In the meantime, here are few specific  steps you can try:

01. Uninstall I2C HID Device

Corrupted drivers can cause the yellow triangle error.

Open  Device Manager → Human Interface Devices - Right‑click I2C HID Device

Select Uninstall device

Restart your laptop to let Windows reinstall it automatically

02.Enable Touchpad in BIOS

Restart laptop → Press F10 (BIOS setup)- Navigate to Advanced → Built‑in Device Options

Ensure Touchpad is set to Enabled

Save changes and exit BIOS

03. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

Press  Esc repeatedly at startup → F2 for diagnostics- Run Component Tests → Touchpad

Note any error codes .

I hope this helps.

I've tried all this multiple times. None of it works. Not sure what else I could do. Thanks
