The touchpad used to work well until it failed unexpectedly. No error message. Just doesn't respond at all.
Windows 11 version 23H2 OS build 22631.4169
Any help please

Hi @Mr_Bryan,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Pavilion x360 14 Convertible PC touchpad has stopped working, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.
Check Touchpad Settings:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad.
- Ensure that the touchpad is enabled. You can also adjust the sensitivity settings here.
Update or Reinstall Touchpad Drivers:
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Find Mice and other pointing devices, then right-click your touchpad device and choose Update driver.
- If updating doesn't work, you can try uninstalling the driver and then restarting your PC. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Check for any available updates and install them.
Restart Your PC:
- Sometimes a simple restart can fix the issue.
Function Key:
- Some HP laptops have a function key that toggles the touchpad on and off. Look for a key with an icon resembling a touchpad (usually F5 or F7) and try pressing it while holding the Fn key.
Check BIOS Settings:
- Restart your PC and enter BIOS (usually by pressing Esc or F10 during startup).
- Look for touchpad settings and ensure the touchpad is enabled.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:
- HP laptops often have built-in diagnostics. Restart your PC and press F2 during startup to enter HP Support Assistant and run a touchpad test.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
