Hi @Raj_251282,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your touchscreen isn’t working and the driver isn’t showing up, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Device Manager

Open Device Manager:

  • Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.

Check for HID-compliant Touchscreen:

  • Expand Human Interface Devices.
  • Look for HID-compliant touch screen or a similar entry. If you don't see it, it might indicate a driver issue or a problem with the hardware.

Update Driver:

  • Right-click on HID-compliant touch screen (if it’s there) and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software and follow the prompts.

Reinstall Driver:

  • If updating doesn’t work, right-click on the touchscreen device and select Uninstall device.
  • Restart your laptop. Windows should attempt to reinstall the driver automatically.

2. Enable Touchscreen in Windows Settings

Open Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Pen & Windows Ink.

Check Touch Feedback:

  • Ensure Show visual effects when I touch the screen is enabled. Sometimes this option can also refresh the touchscreen settings.

Check Device Settings:

  • Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Tablet PC Settings.
  • Under the Display tab, check if you can calibrate or enable the touchscreen.

3. Check Windows Updates

  1. Install Updates:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
    • Click Check for updates and install any pending updates. Sometimes updates include drivers or fixes for touchscreen issues.

4. Run Hardware Troubleshooter

  1. Troubleshooter:
    • Open Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
    • Select Additional troubleshooters and look for any troubleshooting options related to hardware or touch screen.

5. Check BIOS/UEFI Settings

Enter BIOS/UEFI:

  • Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI setup (usually by pressing a key like F2, F10, or Del during startup).

Check for Touchscreen Settings:

  • Look for any settings related to touchscreen functionality and ensure it is enabled.

6. Perform a System Scan

System File Checker (SFC):

  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator (search for cmd, right-click, and select Run as administrator).
  • Run the command: sfc /scannow. This will scan and attempt to repair corrupted system files.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
