I have a HP Spectre laptop. All of a sudden the screen no longer displays.
When I got an estimate to fix it the cost was going to be around 300 GBP.
I only use it to play music from when I play piano so I thought what I will do instead is just buy a second hand touchscreen and use the screen plugged into the laptop. Touchscreen is important because I have software where I can add comments etc to the music with a HP digital pen.
I got a HP E230T but I cannot get the touchscreen to work. I have checked drivers and the cable connections and cant see that I have done anything wrong but here is the weird thing... the touch still works on my laptop screen so at the moment I am using the "black" laptop screen as the touchscreen and the E230T to see the content. Not ideal, but what is strange is the pointer that shows on the E230T is no longer the laptop pointer - it is a circle - which is the pointer for the E230T.
Does anyone have any advice on how I can get the touchscreen to work on the E230t? I can't update the firmware because when I tried on the version of Windows 10 I was on there was an error saying "can not update to this monitor". I then updated to the latest version of Windows 10 and the firmware update no longer shows on the HP software downloads.
Ive also tried HP diagnostics but in the touchscreen tests the touchscreen functionality isnt working.
