HP Pavilion x360 Laptop - 14-dw0156ng
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an "HP Pavilion x360 Laptop - 14" and since I got it sometimes on bootup the trackpad isn't recognized by the OS at all (also doesn't show up in device manager). I also tried ubuntu and the issue also is present there.

Like I said in the title, the issue was present since I got the device it just wasn't bothering me because it worked 99% of the time

Edit: It only works if the PC boots up cold, or at least it always works when it does (~0-10°C)

Things I already tried:

  • reset BIOS

  • Clean physical connectors between track-pad and motherboard

  • reinstall OS / try different one (Win 10 / ubuntu 20.04.1/20.04.3)

Other information:

  • the trackpad never reconnected after a while

  • the trackpad never disconnected after a while
  • sleep mode dosn't seem to affect it at all
  • fullshutdowns don't make a difference (shutdown + poweron vs reboot)

I hope someone can help me.

Thanks a lot in advance.

I'd be more than happy to buy a replacement Trackpad / cable, but can't find a shop selling one.
