TrueVision HD webCam is not working in skype, getting dark background

Hello Everyone,

My camera works perfectly if I open the camera app however when using Skype I only get a audio and a black screen. The camera is recognized but I get no picture.

I have ensured that my diver is up-to-date and restarted both my computer and Skype several times. I also ensure that all other camera applications are not running while Skype is open. Same with Hangout and other video call apps as well i.e. Camera light is on but I get no picture of mine.

Could you please help me on this a,  it really urgent to get fixed as I am unable to give couple of interviews.

@Rashmi217 If it's working fine on the camera app, you may want to try another application on a new user account with administrative privileges,

if you need help creating one: click here for details.

Also, you may want to reinstall the Skype application to check if that helps.
