Microsoft Windows 11

Trying to connect multiple (2-3) monitors to HP OmniBook 5 16 inch Laptop Next Gen AI PC 16-ag1075cl with Radeon 860M graphics using a Hiercool USB-C docking station (model UCN 3270-2).

1. Downloaded DisplayLink Driver and installed on laptop.

2. Connected dock thru laptop USB-C port; received repeated Windows USB device detection "ding" sounds that continue without end and no additional displays detected in settings.

3. Disconnected USB-C dock.

4. Connected one additional monitor directly to laptop via HDMI port with satisfactory results.

Does anyone know of a proper driver download or other solution(s) to resolve this issue and allow connection of 2-3 external monitors to this laptop?

The specs of your machine is

         https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/details/hp-pavilion-16-inch-laptop-pc-16-ag0000/model/210205711...

It has

  • 2 USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge);
  • 1 USB Type-A 10Gbps signaling rate;
  • 1 USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate;
  • 1 HDMI-out 2.1;
  • 1 headphone/microphone combo

 You should be able to connect at least 2 more external monitors using

  1. Monitor 1: HDMI direct
  2. Monitor 2: USB-C to DP (monitor) or direct USB-C to USB-C monitor (the second USB-C port is for its charger which comes with the machine).

You may be able to daisy chain monitors on USB-C port using USB-C or DP connection

Regards.

banhien, thank you for the information. It turned out to be a power limitation problem whenever the power adapter is directly plugged into the laptop USB-C power port and feeding power to the USB-C dock via the other port port, is seems that the dock is not getting enough power to function properly. When I plug the USB-C power adapter into the dock directly and then power the laptop indirectly from the USB-C dock, it resolves the external monitor connection issue. However, the laptop does then provide a message that is is changing the power profile down from performance due to power limitation of the supplied 65W charger provided with the laptop. I have not been able to determine if there is an HP endorsed 90W charger for this laptop though to provide the additional power. Anyway. I thank you again. Sincerely.

I don't know what is your dock. Normally dock should have its power supply itself.
