I am trying to set up a dual display whereby I have an extended desktop on the two displays allowing me to close the lid on the laptop.
I can get dual display across the laptop and a single display connected via the HDMI port, but want it across two without the laptop display.
Does the USB SuperSpeed port support video? I have already tried to use the USB C port with a converter, as well as a USB C docking station and these will not provide video from the laptop to a monitor.
Am wondering whether connecting via the USB SuperSpeed will work. NOTE: Connecting USB / USB C adapter to the SS port gave the same result as connecting the doc to the USB C port.
Am I totally out of luck connecting two monitors to create an extended display?

What is your HP Laptop 15-dy1xxx ? Normally it should have same ports as the following machine
It ONLY has 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate) port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine
- Connect to an external monitor with / without hub/dock/adapter
If you wish to have 2 or more external monitors (and notebook monitor - total 3), please enter your requirement on the following link and it will find for you few USB-A DisplayLink Certified options on market today including some HP products (you can select HP before Search)

The link you sent for identifying the output ports matched up with what my laptop has.
However, the link you sent to help find a docking station that would work with my box took input, but for some reason either didn't offer a "button" to do a search, or has nothing to offer based on the inputs in window.
I take this to mean I can't run the two additional monitors I wanted to run sans laptop screen.
Do you concur?
