Hello,

 

I have a HP USB-C Dock G3 connected to my HP ProBook 450 G8 via USB-C. When I boot up (turn on) my pc my monitor doesn't automatically register/ turn on (Connected via DP cable). Therefore i need to plug the USB C in and out  of my laptop for the pc to register the external monitor.

 

I was wondering if just by turning on my laptop it would automatically start up on my monitor. (my monitor is always in standby - its an LG ultragear)

The dock is too old for the HP ProBook 450 G8, they are not compatible.

would i need to buy the USB-C G4 or G5 to ensure that this works? what ensures that the docking stations works on startup?
