The light on the top of my USB-C Dock G5 will not illuminate even though there is power going to it -- the light on the bottom illuminates. It does not charge my laptop, and all other connected devices are also not being detected. This is my second docking station with the same problem.

Sounds like they are NOT compatible therefore the light on the top won't turn up. You can turn up BOTH your machine and the dock AT THE SAME TIME  using that switch (the light) ONLY for compatible devices.

 

What is your machine ? Please use the following way to find out:
