Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help. I've been using my USB-C digital AV Adapter to connect to a TV display through HDMI for around 6 months with no issues. I tried to connect it again this week and it will not project the display to the TV anymore, would anyone know why this would happen/what i can try to help solve it?

Things I have tried/tested:

1. Checked the USB-Type C cable with another device and it works fine.

2. Purchased another cable to check, works fine on other devices just not with this one.

3. Checked the USB-C ports are still working by connecting my Phone and Charging cables.

4. Tried updating everything possible - including drivers, BIOS whatever was thrown my way.

5. Tried updating and uninstalling USB-Type C Digital AV Adapter when it shows up in device manager, restarting and reconnecting - failed.

6. Tried updating and uninstalling all the USB drivers in device manager, restarting and reconnecting - failed.

7. Checked BIOS settings to check if something was changed in an update to lower power given to USB-Type C - not changed.

8. Tried a system restore for recent changes made - did not solve the issue.

I tried contacting HP but they just suggested I buy the premium service without giving me any ideas of why this is happening or that they would have a fix.

Any ideas, i will try anything else to try and fix it?

Thanks.

I've only had the post up for an hour but i have found a fix. It looks like a previous BIOS update was somehow corrupted.

Press and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time, and then press and hold the power button for 2 to 3 seconds. Release the Power button but continue pressing the Windows and B keys. You might hear a series of beeps. The HP BIOS Update screen displays and the recovery begins automatically.
