Hello,

my  HP USB-C to Displayport and USB-C to VGA adapters have been working fine for a few month.

One day, I locked Windows before leaving my desk for lunch and, when I got back, I find out the notebook had rebooted.

Since then, both the display adapters stopped working on my laptop.

some more details:

- Both the adapters are HP branded (no third party)

- The adapters are actually OK: they still work fine when connected to another laptop

- the laptop's native HDMI port actually works

- the HP USB-C to Ethernet adapter works fine on the laptop too

- Windows recognizes both the adapters, but installs them as "Billboard Device"

This means that, when connecting the adapter(s), the USB-C Alternate Mode negotiation fails and, since they used to work in the past, I suspect it's a USB-C hardware fault.

any suggestion?
