I specifically purchased a notebook with a USB-C port with Display capability. When attached to Dock, my mouse and printer work but monitor is not detected. I was told by support to use the HDMI port. Is this the only way to connect to a display?

Your HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg0000 (9WF73AV) machine could be one on the following list
For example
HP Pavilion Laptop 15-eg0003ca
What is your USB-C dock ? I know the HP USB-C Gen 5 dock works for your machine.
Regards.

My specs match the one on the list and are as follows: 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge); 2 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate; 1 HDMI 2.0; 1 AC smart pin; 1 headphone/microphone combo
I can connect to my Lenovo ThinkPad USB-C Dock Gen2 for all other devices, however, the monitor is not detected. I believe the problem is possibly the Gen 2 Dock? I am now attempting to connect my monitor via HDMI. I can connect to my HD tv but not my HD monitor via the HDMI port to a DP. My dock and monitor work with my Dell and Lenovo laptops but not the HP. I would rather switch to a Dell or Lenovo laptop rather than have to purchase a new Dock or monitor.
I can't find a link to look up compatible devices for my equipment.
Thank you.
