Hi @Aliva07,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding USB-C port issues on the HP 15.6-inch Laptop PC 15-d4000!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Device Compatibility:

  • Ensure that the monitor or docking station is compatible with your laptop's USB-C port, especially concerning power delivery and data transfer capabilities.

Update Graphics and USB Drivers:

  • Go to the HP Support site and download the latest graphics and USB-C drivers for your laptop model.
  • Install the updates and restart your laptop.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for any pending updates. Install them and restart your laptop.

Inspect the USB-C Port:

  • Check for any dust or debris in the USB-C port. Clean it gently if necessary.
  • Ensure that the cable and connections are not damaged and secure.

Test with Different Devices:

  • Try using a different USB-C cable or connecting to a different monitor or docking station to rule out faults with the accessories.

Power Reset the Laptop:

  • Shut down the laptop completely and unplug it from the power source.
  • Disconnect all peripherals and wait for a few minutes before turning it back on.

Check Display Settings:

  • Go to Settings > System > Display and ensure that the display settings are configured appropriately, and the correct display is recognized.

BIOS and Firmware Updates:

  • Check HP Support for any BIOS or firmware updates relevant to your laptop model and perform those updates as necessary.

Restore to a Previous Point:

  • If the issue started after a particular update or change, consider restoring your system to a previous point where the USB-C port was working correctly.

I hope this helps.
