Does anyone have any idea why I am not able to connect my Envy x360 HP laptop to an external monitor through the USB-C port?
On the product spec page it says the USB Type C port is a "USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1".
The external monitor I was trying to connect to has a "USB Type-C upstream port (Alternate mode with DisplayPort 1.4, Power Delivery up to 65 W)".
Much appreciated.

Its specs
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05310204
It ONLY has 1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use
- Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
- Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as
Regards.
