HP Pavilion x360 Convertible Laptop PC 14-dh0047tu
Microsoft Windows 11

The Laptop works fine for a while and then suddenly there is a bubbling effect on the screen on the right hand top corner and sometimes in right hand bottom corner. The cursor disappears or starts to flicker and is rendered useless.

The volume control and internet selection screen keeps popping in and out in the bottom right hand corner.

Pressing Alt F4throws up the dialog box, which also begins to flicker and so cannot be used.

Finally the on/off switch has to be kept pressed for forced closure of the laptop.

On restarting the system works fine. Then after a while the screen problem restarts.

However, no data is lost.

Windows 11 Support team suggest a clean rebbot which was done. But the problem persists.

Is it a hardware problem then?

Hi@Bbardalai,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing flickering screen issues with the HP Pavilion X360 Convertible Laptop PC.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • Try doing Reset PC Keep my files from windows and check if it works.

Try and check in Bios using the F10 key if the screen is flickering in Bios. To enter Bios, click restart and keep tapping the F10 key and then turn on the PC at the same time to enter Bios screen.

If the issue persists in Bios then it is a hardware issue on the screen.

Hello,

I carried out all the steps as mentioned in your earlier mail, including the Bios screen. It did not solve the problem.

Finally I disabled the Touch Screen function  through the device manager/HID/touch screen.

It seems to be working fine now.

So it is a hardware problem then. The screen needs to replaced, right?

Regards

Basant
