Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Two thin, white vertical lines appeared in the center of the screen upon startup. I performed a full shutdown/restart and one line disappeared, but one line remains. Repeated restarts have done nothing to eliminate the other line. Laptop is just over one year old and upgraded to Windows 10 several weeks ago.

Hi @Tbartel58,

Welcome to HP Forums!

I understand that you got a white vertical line on your laptop screen, and restart did no make it away. I would like to assist you finding the proper solution.

Please connect an external display to your laptop. If the vertical line dose no appear on the external monitor, it might  be a hardware issue of the laptop screen itself. Laptop screen will need to be replaced. If the vertical line appears on the external display too, try updating the graphic driver on your laptop. Put in your product number here: http://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers for the right drivers.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue by marking this post as "Accept as Solution".  To simply say thanks, click the Thumbs up below!  🙂  If you require further assistance let me know and I will gladly do all I can to help. Thanks.
