AFter I sent my laptop in for repair to fix a SSD issue, I then realized that the camera was not working. I got the bellow error code. I noticed the driver was missing when I attempted to reinstall the driver. Please help.

Hi @agbaye1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that you're encountering the error code 0xA00F4244<NoCamerasAreAttached>, it indicates that your laptop's operating system is unable to detect the camera. I would request you to please follow the steps:

Device Manager

  • Press Win + X → Device Manager.
  • Expand Cameras or Imaging Devices.
  • If the camera is missing, look under Other Devices for “Unknown device.”
  • If nothing appears, Windows isn’t detecting the hardware.

Enable Camera in BIOS

  • Restart your laptop and enter BIOS/UEFI (usually by pressing F2, F10, or Del at startup).
  • Look for Integrated Camera or Webcam settings.
  • Make sure it’s enabled.
  • Save and exit.

Reinstall Camera Driver

  • Go to your laptop manufacturer’s support site (HP, Dell, Lenovo, etc.).
  • Download the camera driver or chipset driver for your exact model.
  • Install and restart.
  • If no camera driver is listed, Windows should use a generic driver once the device is detected.

Run Windows Update

  • Go to Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update.
  • Install all updates, including optional drivers.
  • This often restores missing camera drivers.

Take care and have an amazing day!
