Webcam driver is old on HP ENVY - microsoft troubleshooted and determined it is 2006 yr and WINDOWS 11 OP  would need a updated driver from HP - online HP hasnt publically released a updated driver.

 

So the situation is the old driver is buggy and sometimes shows up as webcam is in use by another APP. Even though there is no other app using the camera. Need a new HP webcam driver for my

HP ENVY x360 Convertible Laptop PC 13m-bd0000

Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.

 

Let me check your basic system configuration before we "focus" on the <webcam> ...

 

(1) Run    msinfo32

- Select <System Summary>:

--->>> Copy/screenshot/paste following key/value pairs:

 

OS Name

Version

System Model

System SKU

( equals HP product number (p/n) )

Processor

BIOS Version/Date

BaseBoard Product

BaseBoard Version

 

(2) Start Windows <Device Manager>

- Expand <Other devices> ? (Those entries are for hardware for which Windows has not loaded a suitable driver)

- Expand <Cameras>

- Expand <Sound, video and game controllers>

- Expand <Universal Serial Bus controllers>

- Expand <USB Connector Managers>
