Hello,
I am unable to use the webcam on my laptop since the last few months. The issue may have appeared after an update, I am not sure, as I only rarely use my webcam.
I am unable to get it to work with Cyberlink Youcam, windows Camera app, or Skype - all I get is a black screen on the Camera app. The HP Truevision HD is appearing on Device Manager and when I open the software, the Camera status indicator LED lights up.
I am in need of using my Device's Webcam for the next few weeks and any prompt help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time.

As I understand, the webcam is not working on my HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
When was the last time it worked fine?
Were there any hardware/software changes made?
Refer to this link for troubleshooting steps:

Hello,
Thank you for your quick reply! I will answer your questions first.
When was the last time it worked fine? Were there any hardware/software changes made?
I used the webcam initially when I bought the computer, and I haven't tried using it since then, until now. Since then there have been multiple windows updates, so I am unable to pinpoint which windows update may have brought on the issue. There haven't been any hardware changes since then.
I tried following the suggestions you made.
Testing a Webcam Using YouCam (Windows 10, 8, 7):
I am able to open YouCam and select "HP Truevision HD" as the capture device. However, nothing displays on the screen - just black color, not the Cyberlink Logo. I am able to locate HP Truevision HD in Device Manager. When I tried updating the Device Driver, it showed " the latest drivers are already installed".
Webcam is not Working (Windows 10, 8):
The solutions mentioned in this didn't work either. I tried locating the HP Truevision HD driver from the HP Software and Driver page, but I couldn't locate the above said driver there. I could only find Cyberlink Youcam 6 which I have already downloaded and installed.
Please let me know how to proceed and what to do next.
Regards
