HP Recommended

I had my HP envy (model #17-AE151NR) for awhile now, but would like to now attach an external monitor (preferably 8k), where previously not used one before. I have several different ports, with which I can connect, but I'm not sure:

  • which ones will work,
  • what I need to look for in a monitor,
  • what's the maximum output specifications I can expect,
  • what is the maximum refresh rate I can expect, etcetera?

I have these questions and more, but can't seem to find it when I look up the system specifications on the HP website, nor other websites I've looked up.

 

QUESTIONS:

  • Can someone please help me find the Video Out Specs & Port Specs, by including a link, or letting me know where to go?
  • What would happen if I connected a monitor that had a higher resolution then my computer puts out, etc?

I'd like to pair it with the fastest, highest resolution, etcetera monitor that I can find on the market. Thank you so much for your help and have a great day!
