What are the two dark circles either side of the camera in top black border

I am curious to know what the two dark circles are in the top black border of my X2 detachable either side of the camera

(and light)

The circle next to the webcam is the webcam light.

However, if you are looking at the borders of the top hinges those are wireless antennas.

WLAN antennas (2)* Send and receive wireless signals to communicate with WLANs.

No,

I'm not talking about the webcam light.

The webcam light, and webcam are then each surrrounded by yet another unknown much larger circular dark patch, either side of them, at the same level, and about twice as far apart, as the webcam and light are from each other, about 2" or 5cm apart on a screen width of about 11"  or 28cm, so still quite close to center of the screen and not towards the edges.

Hi! @ThermionicValve,

Thanks for sharing the picture. 

We have a few similar series of the laptop which goes with an IR camera used in the windows hello program. So the openings are used in those particular models. 

However, as your laptop was not shipped with an IR camera its just an opening but there is nothing in those circles.
