I purchased a non hp blue tooth mouse and it hardly works most of the time .  I need to use the usb port from the mouse I am using now to support my camera that I had to buy because the built in one totally crashed!  Recommendations please.

@Nynana

Were you using a Bluetooth dongle (plugs into the USB port) for your Bluetooth mouse?  If so, write down the bluetooth settings as they appear now.  Then, remove the dongle and reboot your PC.  Connect a USB mouse.  Check to see if the bluetooth settings are still intact. If they are not, your model does not have built-in bluetooth and you have to use the dongle.

As to BT mice, I use both of the following and can recommend either of them:

1) Logitech M720 -- handles both WiFi and BT

2) Logitech M535

I do have blue tooth available.  The off brand blue tooth mouse was only working intermittently so I am using the old mouse which needs the dongle.  Wanting to purchase an hp mouse so to be sure it will work properly.

I have a Dell laptop that has bluetooth and both of the Logitech mouse I use work fine with it without needing the dongle.

If you just want a basic mouse, then you should try the Logitech M535.

I don't use HP mice, so I can't recommend any models.
