Hi @MissLys,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

There could be a few reasons why your touchpad stops working when you use the touchscreen feature on your HP Pavilion X360 laptop. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Check touchpad settings: It's possible that your touchpad settings may have changed. Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad and make sure that the "Leave touchpad on when a mouse is connected" option is selected.
  • Update drivers: Outdated or incorrect touchpad drivers can also cause issues. Check for any available updates by going to Device Manager > Mice and other pointing devices > Synaptics SMBus Touchpad > Update driver.
  • Disable touchscreen: If the above steps don't work, you can try disabling the touchscreen temporarily to see if that resolves the issue. Go to Device Manager > Human Interface Devices > HID-compliant touch screen > right-click and select "Disable device."
  • Reset computer: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting your computer to its factory settings. This will erase all your data, so make sure to back up important files before doing this.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
