Hey guys, a bit new to the HP community, appreciate the help I quickly received in my last post regarding my RAM upgrading.

This question involves many different things and factors, please bear with me as I try to explain.

I seem to be having an issue where, when my computer wakes up from sleep, whether opening the lid or just pushing the button to wake it up after it sleeps based on my power settings, the display will not always turn on. It's not every time, but it's been happening more and more. I have only had the laptop about a week. Now understand, the computer seems to wake up correctly, I can hear the hardware in action, I can even put in my pin and will hear a video playing on YouTube that must have been paused from a browser I had open, so the machine is waking up okay, just the display is not always coming on.

Now I read a little bit about this in the forums, and many people said updating drivers, especially BIOS, can take care of this, however, when I run HP Support Assistant and search for automatic updates, it says I'm all up to date, but I know from experience with other laptops, these assistants are often not the most reliable. So, I went to my product page and scanned for updates and drivers and it displayed many driver updates for my system that you could manually install. I noticed that the current BIOS version was 1.60, from April 23, 2023, my current BIOS version is 1.45 from January 6, 2020. I figured I would just manually update the BIOS like I have on other systems, so I downloaded it and started the setup process, but I got a warning, saying something about updating the BIOS without first updating the Intel firmware could create system instability, and it said to immediately update my Intel firmware.

I do not want to make this post too long, but I thought I should explain what happened. So, to shorten the story, when I got this warning, I stopped. I did not move forward with a BIOS update. Instead, I created a restore point and began searching for answers to this problem, and that is what brought me here. And this is why I said that is question contains multiple factors. It's not just about the display, it's about whether or not my system is as up to date as it should be, and I need the communities help to determine what I should do. Like I said, I recently purchased this laptop and I have 90 days return window, and I would rather keep it, especially because I have additional upgrade plans for it, but I need to make sure it's going to be in proper working condition. It came with a clean install of Windows 10 Pro. I have Windows completely up to date, and I installed HP support assistant and installed everything it recommended automatically, but I feel I'm not where I should be.

Without ranting on anymore, can anyone help me with the issue of the display and software/driver/bios update concerns? I would be happy to provide any additional information you require. Thank you so much in advance.
