Did not work since there is no disable button on an ELAN keypad on my new Pavilion cs-2096 series laptop. This is so irritating, I am likely to return the laptop and opt for something more user friendly

There is no device settings tab at all; the only tabs are General, Driver, Details, events, resources and Power Management. There is also no option for turning off the keypad when an alternative is attached. Does cost cutting automatically imply a lousy user interface?
