Hello! I have tried everything, and nothing fixes my issue. I shoot stop-motion animation on my HP laptop using Dragonframe, After Effects and Premiere Pro. Once I am happy with colours, I export it and send to my other devices, but the video looks super green, even though it had no green on the laptop screen. All my drivers are updated, and I have no idea what else to do! Please, help!

If the white balance appears off and very green after exporting from your laptop, there are a few potential reasons and solutions to consider.

 

  • Color Calibration: Ensure that your laptop's display is properly calibrated for color accuracy. Sometimes, the default display settings may not accurately represent the true colors. You can use calibration tools or adjust the color settings manually to achieve better accuracy.
  • Color Profile: Make sure you are using the correct color profile for your editing and exporting software. Different color profiles can affect how colors are displayed and exported. If possible, use a color-managed workflow to maintain consistency between different devices.
  • Export Settings: Check the export settings in your image editing software. Ensure that you are exporting the image in the appropriate color space and with the correct color profile embedded. Exporting in sRGB is generally a safe option for web or general use.
  • White Balance Settings: Double-check your white balance adjustments before exporting. If the white balance was manually adjusted during editing, there might be a chance that it was set inaccurately. Reset the white balance and try again.
  • External Monitor: If you are using an external monitor, make sure it is calibrated and displaying colors accurately. Sometimes, external monitors can have different color profiles and settings that might affect the appearance of your images.
  • Software Update: Ensure that your image editing software is up-to-date. Sometimes, software updates can fix bugs or improve color handling.
  • Color Temperature: Verify the color temperature of your monitor. Some monitors allow you to adjust color temperature settings, which can impact how colors are displayed.
  • Check Other Devices: Confirm the color accuracy on other devices such as a different computer, tablet, or smartphone. If the issue persists across multiple devices, the problem is likely with the exported image itself.
