Hi @Gopikrishna05,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
White spots on a laptop screen can be caused by a few different issues. Here's a guide to help you troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue on your HP Notebook - 14.
Check for External Causes
- Dust or Dirt: Clean your screen gently with a microfiber cloth. Sometimes dust or smudges can resemble white spots.
- Pressure Marks: White spots may appear if there's been pressure on the screen (from closing the lid too tightly, for example). In such cases, avoid putting heavy items on top of the laptop or closing the lid forcefully.
Check for Software Issues
- Dead or Stuck Pixels: White spots could be due to stuck or dead pixels. You can use online tools or apps like JScreenFix to attempt fixing stuck pixels.
- Test with Different Applications: Open different images or videos, preferably dark backgrounds, and see if the white spots persist. If they do, it's likely a hardware issue.
Update Graphics Drivers
Sometimes driver issues can cause display problems.
- Open Device Manager and expand Display Adapters.
- Right-click your graphics card and choose Update Driver.
- Restart your laptop after updating.
Perform a Display Test
HP laptops often come with built-in diagnostics.
- Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly.
- When the menu appears, press F2 to enter the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
- Choose the Display Test to check if the issue is hardware-related.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
