I need to use 2 external monitors to display my screen from the laptop HP 15s-fq2 however I only have 1 HDMI port, 1 Type C and 2 USB ports. I tried using a Type C to HDMI connector and it does not detect the external monitors. I also tried using a USB to HDMI connector and it could'nt connect. Please HELP!!!!

Hi @deaneera69,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP 15s-fq2 laptop is designed to output video signals to an external display through its HDMI port. While it is possible to use a USB or type C converter to connect two external monitors, it may not work as expected, as the HDMI port on the laptop may not support video output to multiple displays simultaneously.

In addition, USB or type C converters that support video output typically have bandwidth limitations, which may affect the quality of the video output or cause issues such as lag or flickering. It is generally recommended to use a dedicated docking station or an external graphics card to connect multiple displays to a laptop.

If you need to connect two external monitors to your HP 15s-fq2 laptop, you can try using an HDMI splitter or a docking station that supports dual display output. However, please note that the performance and compatibility may vary depending on the specific devices used.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Alden,

Thank you for your detailed explanation.

I actually found a simpler solution and purchased a USB3.0 to HDMI adapter (display adapter) and installed a driver which came with the cable. This enabled me to now display 2 external screens (not on mirror function).

It is working well and if anyone needs the same they can purchase the USB3.0 to HDMI adapter (display adapter) -brand I purchased was GLINK and it is working well.

Thank you.
